Look for a new book coming soon by one of the most amazing women on the planet. No, she's not a candidate for political office--not yet, anyway. Running for office is probably one of the few things she hasn't attempted.
What makes her so remarkable?
Well, for starters, she's a veteran cardiac surgical nurse in one of the most prestigeous institutions in the nation. To top that off, she's a super Mom, poet, actress, author, philosopher, and--get this--standup comic!
A book about life.
Her soon to be released book, Notes from the Mother Ship, is not just an autobiography, it's a poetic and sometimes tragic look at life in general. The pathos of the OR as she describes it is a touching look at life and death from the vantage point of close proximity.
Just as the author seeks out other avenues for her self expression and ways to escape the morass of the life and death situations in a cardiac OR, the book takes you on a whirlwind tour de force of personal experiences and behind-the-scenes glimpses into the world of standup comedy.
